"Headsets like Vive and Oculus right now have cameras attached"
Only Rift needs a PC connected camera, the Vive doesn't, and would work just fine with a backpack set up.

the omni treadmill seems more practical for people who have little to no space to roam around but still want a true immersive experience

Gateway to the future of VR by making it "wireless" like hololens.

Kind of misleading. Oculus Rift cannot be untethered using a backpack PC, because the constellation camera must be connected to the PC via USB. Only the Vive can be untethered via backpack PC, as the lighthouses do not need to be connected to the PC.

wouldn't it just make more sense to use an alienware 15 laptop in a backpack. Becuase no one is going to buy a dedicated computer just for vr. This seems more of a laser tag type thing. you would go to a arena to use this

Basically, the cheap option, take your laptop and strap it on your back. Even if you buy a laptop with similar components it'll probably be a lot cheaper than that thing. Alienware isn't known to be cheap.

1:00 The VIVE doesn't track your movement with cameras and the lighthouses don't need to connect to your pc.
